Monday 04/13 - Wednesday 04/15: Simra and Ariana focused on connecting all the wires together to see what other wires we would need for our project to work. They tested out the speaker too see if the sound would come out properly to make sure that it was ready for assembly. Ariana drilled the holes for the speaker into the wood and assembled the wood together with the mirror place inside. Radha and Rishi focused on coding and how to get different variables to appear on the screen for temperature. We ended up with a full assembly of the mirror and wood along with part of the code finished. They also figured out how to use the monitor directly by coding on the raspberry pi software, but used the original application to code. This is all part of the testing step fo the design process as we are assembling the final mirror together with the different components we have
Thursday 04/16: Rishi and Ariana took off the back of the monitor so that we can drill the back plate to the plank of wood we'll be using as our backing. The backing will hold up the mirror while also not interfering with the reflection. We then combined all of our materials for the internal mechanism. This included power for the raspberrypi, power for the monitor, a keyboard and mouse for us to code the raspberrypi, and all the converters we'll need for the build to function. This was apart of the testing process of our project.
Friday 04/17: Radha and Rishi worked on getting the speaker drilled into the wood. They drilled screws into the wood with two on each speaker to minimize the use of the screws. They also worked on coding and connecting the wires together and realized we need an extra power source for the monitor. They also received an extra cord to act as an adapter for the VGA cord to connect the raspberry pi and monitor from Mr. Rojas.
TWO WEEKS PLAN: In two weeks, it wil be past showcase and near the retake portion/AP Testing. The important part is that in a week we have the Academy showcase!! We are nearing an end of our year long project and must make sure everything is finished and wrapped up smoothly. This includes complete assembling, code all complete, aesthetics completed, and a slideshow as well as poster made for showcase day.
