The aim of this project was to provide free financial literacy workshops to help people learn how to file their taxes. Due to COVID-19, a workshop was unable to be held, therefore, the final product of the project includes a 10-page paper, bibliography, and a pamphlet including materials intended for the workshop(s).

This research will examine the content and function of the tax cuts, their effect on the past and present economy, and ultimately, if the decision to cut federal revenues was practical in light of future events.

I will analyze the differences between Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The study will involve an overview and comparison of the two methods and illustrate the possible quantitative effects on U.S. companies if they were to change from GAAP to IFRS.

I will analyze the three costliest expenses of a law firm (filing and courier services, payroll, and supplies) and will determine ways to cut costs for filing and courier services.

The Effects of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act after 5 Years
I will conduct a study of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act to see how it has affected the accounting progression and business environment during the 5 year period from 2002 until now. I'll research the effects of the act on management and public accountants, attitudes of non-accountants toward the act, how the act has been implemented, interpreted, and adjusted by accounting firms, business and regulatory agencies.
