Hello Second Grade Families. I'm so happy to have your student in my class! We are working on second grade standards for each subject area. Other things we want to establish are routines, practicing core values, and being able to follow verbal and written directions. 

Many ask how to get my student to WANT to read. Encourage them to share with you what they are reading. Also, do they see you reading a book? We all know that they like to do what we are doing, so are you showing them the love of reading? Another suggestion is to listen to a children's audio book in car together. This can be done on the way to school or home, even both. I know many of our Sunshine State Books are on audible.
