Focus Skills in Reading: 

Reading: Similes, Alliterations, and Idioms 

Grammar: Plural Possessives

Phonics: UFLI Lessons

Focus Skills in Math: 

Students are currently learning how to solve for an unknown number, determine if an equation is equal or not equal, and solve one step and two step word problems. Students will be practicing automaticity with math facts throughout the year. This quarter, students will be focusing on double digit addition facts. It would be helpful to practice these facts at home too. 

Focus Skill in Science:  Human Body Systems and Habitats

Focus Skill in Social Studies:  We are discussing the importance of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, along with why immigration continues today.
