My name is Mrs. Sears, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 5th year at the Villages Charter School, and my 3rd year as a classroom teacher. I have an amazing husband, Luke, and our two sweet kiddos, Beckham and Evelyn!
Please check your child's agenda and binder every night! Please remember to initial each day and check the "keep home" side for any notices, etc. They will need to bring these back to school every day.
Parent Teacher Conferences are available as requested.

October 13th - Teacher Professional Development Day: No School for Students
October 17th - 50th day of school, Report Cards Available on Skyward today.
Reading: Students should read their library books at home with a parent each week. Please review the weekly study guides provided. *please ensure your child is bringing at least 1 library book each day to read in class as well!
Math: Students will have a daily math practice page that reinforces the skill we learned that day in class.
Additional reminders:
*Please send in a healthy snack and water bottle with your student each day!
*You may purchase an agenda and ID ($7) for your student through Skyward. A friendly reminder to complete your child's emergency contact form online as well.

What we are learning:
Reading: This week in Reading, we will focus on the following skills:
Comprehension Strategy: Rhyme/ Rhyme scheme in poetry as well as Context clues
Writing strategy: Writing an introduction using a clear central idea and "my own ideas"
Phonics: UFLI Lessons 67b/68
Math: This week in math, we will be learning about identifying numbers that are ten more, ten less, one hundred more, and one hundred less. We are also working on addition and subtraction facts (specifically doubles facts and 2-digit addition). Please practice with your child each night.
Science: This week in Science, we will be learning about Weather.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, we are wrapping up Citizenship and American Symbols (as well as symbols specific to Florida). We are about to begin maps!
