My name is Mrs. Sears, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 5th year at the Villages Charter School, and my 3rd year as a classroom teacher. I have an amazing husband, Luke, and our two sweet kiddos, Beckham and Evelyn!
Please check your child's agenda and binder every night! Please remember to initial each day and check the "keep home" side for any notices, etc. They will need to bring these back to school every day.
Parent Teacher Conferences are available as requested.

December 1st- students return from break
December 2-FAST Star Reading Progress Monitoring
December 9th- Parent night at 6-7:30 p.m. (please bring your student!!)
December 11-FAST Star Math Progress Monitoring
December 15-Christmas Musical: Students arrive and doors open at 6:00, Performance begins at 6:30
December 18- Please bring in all supplies for our Holiday party and a wrapped book to exchange (if student is participating)
December 19-Holiday party (in class) from 9-10 a.m. (parents welcome!)
December 19-Last day of Quarter 2
December 19-Last Day Before Winter Break
January-Students return from break
Reading: Students should read their library books at home with a parent each week. Please review the weekly study guides provided. *please ensure your child is bringing at least 1 library book each day to read in class as well!
Math: Students will have a daily math practice page that reinforces the skill we learned that day in class.

*Please send in a healthy snack and water bottle with your student each day!

What we are learning:
Reading: This week in Reading, we will focus on the following skills:
-Author's opinion (until break)
-Past tense irregular verbs
Writing strategy: Learning target #3: Writing "If ________, then _______." sentences
Phonics: UFLI Lessons 92/93
Math: This week in math, we will be learning about Fractions!
-We are also working on becoming fluent with our addition and subtraction facts (specifically doubles facts and 2-digit addition). Please practice with your child each night.
Science: This week in Science, we will be learning about life cycles and habitats, what living things need, as well as plants/animals.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, we are learning about:
-Native American Tribes
- Historical Knowledge, Colonial America, and Goods and Services.
