My name is Mrs. Sears, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 6th year at the Villages Charter School, and my 4th year as a classroom teacher. I have an amazing husband, Luke, and our two sweet kiddos, Beckham and Evelyn!
Please check your child's agenda and binder every night! Please remember to initial each day and check the "keep home" side for any notices, etc. They will need to bring these back to school every day.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are available as requested.

-September 11th: Founder's Day 5:30pm-8:00pm @ VHS Practice Field

-September 25th- Deadline to Donate to Buffalo Basket for PI time
Reading: Students should read their library books at home with a parent each week- roughly 15-20 minutes each night. Please review the weekly study guides sent home each week. Our media center day is Tuesday.
*R.E.D. Folders are sent back daily. Students earn a ticket and a sticker with every signed submission!
*Please ensure your child is bringing at least 1 library book each day to read in class as well!
Math: Students will have a daily math practice page that reinforces the skill we learned that day in class. Please view your child's agenda for more information on which problems have been assigned. Thank you!

What we are learning:
Reading: This week in Reading, we will focus on the following skills: Story elements, Central Idea and relevant details.
Writing strategy: Learning target #2 (Introductions)
Phonics: UFLI Lessons 62/63
Math: This week in math, we will be learning about rounding. We will have a Math Assessment for NSO.2.1 on September 18th.
Science: This week in Science, we will be learning about Geology! We are exploring rocks and minerals, as well as soil types.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, we are learning about citizenship and patriotism. Constitution Day is 9/17!
