My name is Mrs. Sears, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 5th year at the Villages Charter School, and my 3rd year as a classroom teacher. I have an amazing husband, Luke, and our two sweet kiddos, Beckham and Evelyn!
Please check your child's agenda and binder every night! Please remember to initial each day and check the "keep home" side for any notices, etc. They will need to bring these back to school every day.

Reading: Students should read their library books at home with a parent each week. Please review the weekly study guides sent home each week. *Please ensure your child is bringing at least 1 library book each day to read in class as well!
Math: Students will have a daily math practice page that reinforces the skill we learned that day in class.
Additional reminders:
*Please send in a healthy snack and water bottle with your student each day!
Classroom Wishlist- Not required, but can earn PI time with receipts sent in. We appreciate anything you are able to send in!

What we are learning:
Reading: This week in Reading, we will focus on the following skills:
-Compare and contrast two texts on the same topic or theme.
Writing strategy: Learning target #5: Idea that is Central
Phonics: UFLI Lessons 110/111
Math: This week in math, we will be learning about even and odd numbers, repeated addition and arrays.
-We are also working on becoming fluent with our addition and subtraction facts (specifically doubles facts and 2-digit addition). Please practice with your child each night.
Science: This week in Science, we will be learning about matter.
Social Studies: In Social Studies, we are learning about:
- The importance of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, along with why immigration continues today.
