The Teacher Evaluation process in TUSD is made up of four components including the Danielson Framework, Academic Growth, the Student Survey, and the Teacher Self-Assessment. Each component factors into a teacher's final score, albeit with different weighting. The Danielson Framework comprises the majority of the score determination by making up 67% of the total summative score. Academic Growth (student growth) makes up 20% of the total summative score. The Student Survey makes up 10% of the score, and the Teacher Self-Assessment is 3% of the total summative score.Â
Scores on the Danielson Framework are determined through formal and informal classroom observations and evidence provided by the classroom teacher. Each teacher in TUSD will be formally observed at least once per school year. The following are the components of the formal observation process:
Pre-Observation form and Lesson Plan completed - lesson plan should be designed with the TUSD Lesson Plan Template.
Pre-Observation conference with supervising administrator
Observed lesson (either recorded or attended live)
Post-Observation reflection form
Post-Observation conference with supervising administrator to review ratings in Domains 2 and 3 on Danielson's Framework
Observations will be completed by December 1, 2023.
Upon teacher request,or if less than 30 points are scored on the first oberservation, another observation will be completed by May 1.
