Tucson Unified Virtual Academy (TUVA) is TUSD's online school for students who thrive in a remote learning environment and who prefer to continue their educational journey in a remote setting. TUVA offers two online learning options to meet the unique needs of Arizona's scholars.
TUVA Teacher-Led is a synchronous school for students in grades K-12 that runs in real time, with students and instructors attending at the same time from different locations.
TUVA Self-Scheduled (formerly COLE) is an asynchronous program with students in grades 6-12 accessing class materials during different hours and from different locations.
In order to achieve our mission and vision, it is important we share common values and engage in common practices. This document will serve as our guidance document for the 2024-25 school year. Within this Teacher Guide, it is our intention to describe with clarity, our expectations at TUVA and the commitments we will make as a staff to achieve our mission and vision.
TUVA's Mission: Tucson Unified Virtual Academy (TUVA) builds community by fostering inclusive and alternative learning pathways for K-12 academic success for non-traditional, at-risk (behavioral, credit deficient, etc.) and accelerated students within a blended, flexible learning environment to build relationships through emerging virtual technologies.
TUVA's Vision: Create and implement a virtual learning environment that promotes lifelong learners who are successful in the classroom and beyond.
