Illness may be acute or chronic. Please notify the nurse if your child has a fever greater than 100.4. Your child should stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medication (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen). For a significant, acute illness (such as the flu, pneumonia, kidney infection) for which your child is out of school for longer than 3 days, please notify the nurse. This will help the nurse plan to meet your child's needs as he/she returns to school. This also helps the nurse address trends and health issues within the school environment.
