Insert Activity Groups
Use the ...dialog to ...
In this dialog, you can insert activities on behalf of the activity group.
Select an activity group and enter the distance and time coordinates for the group.
Select the insert method and complete entering additional data fields. The methods are explained in the lower part of this chapter.
Select the date and time where the activity group should be inserted.

Methods
By Coordinates - Enter the start and end for the new activities to be created.
By Sector profile - Select from a Sector profile the section where the new Activities should be created. This sets start and end coordinates of the new activities created.
Fixed length - In both cases above, the length is taken from start and end coordinates. In this case we enter only 1 coordinate, this is the start of the activities. The length is taken from the table Project view range in the tab Range of the Activity Groups` templates menu bar.
Check the option Negative direction on the insert, the direction of the activity is changed.
Profile based - Within this method, the activity group is inserted multiple times, one time for each profile line entry.
Profile - Select the distance profile that should be used.
Length calculation
Activity at profile point - In this case, start and end distance coordinates are generated from the profile. Activity length has to be defined in the profile. This can be used e.g. for piles in bridge building.
Activity between profile points - In this case, start and end distance coordinates are generated from two profile lines, start and end distance are different. The length of the Activity is span between 2 profile points. This can be used e.g. for decks in bridge building.
Activity Length - When checkbox Activity at profile point is activated the Activity length can be selected in the pulldown menu Activity length.
Quantity - Select a field from the profile, which contains the Quantity given to each Activity created.
Only between stations - An activated checkbox allows to create a repetitive Activity confined to the section that is defined by the combo-boxes Start and End.
Link method - This defines how the activities from the different Activity groups get linked after inserting them.
Sequential - The last Activity of a group gets linked with the first Activities of the next group.
Link only first Activity of group - The first activity of a group gets linked with the first Activities of the next group.
Link all Activities of group - Each activity from one group gets linked with the same Activity of the next group. This reflects the case that there is one resource for each type of Activity created.
Create Activity name - Different options how to generate activity and bar name can be entered.
Activity name from template - The names from the templates are used without changing them.
Activity name + coordinate - The coordinate of the profile line is added to the activity name.
Activity name + sector name - The names stored in the profile line are added to the activity name.
Activity name + sector name + Coordinates - Like above, but also coordinate is added.
Reverse direction - The creation is done for all lines in the profile. If Reverse direction is selected, the algorithm starts with the last line of the profile, when sorted by distance (highest distance value)
