January 23, 2026
Deconstructing SRCI is designed to highlight the behind-the-scenes journey of scholarly work – how projects are conceived, developed, executed, and shared. Through a moderated interview with a guest researcher, we explore the processes, methods, and decision-making that underpin research.
January’s featured researcher is Vickie Baracos, Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, and one of the world’s leading experts on cancer cachexia. Prof. Baracos will be discussing "Molecular subtypes of human skeletal muscle in cancer cachexia", recently published in Nature.
This virtual event will be held on January 23rd from 12:15pm-1:15pm, and is open to TMU learners, clinical faculty, and staff. Register now to join us!
Deconstructing SRCI: TMU School of Medicine Rounds is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
