The course has 2 components.
Component One: Performance and choreography
A: Set Study includes 2 solo performances of set material.
B: Perform a duet/trio performance choreographed by the teacher and students can have some choreographic input.
C: Choreograph a solo or group performance based on 1 of 5 stimuli set by AQA.
Component Two: Dance appreciation (theory exam paper).
Students have to critically appreciate and evaluate their own work, the work of others and professionals.

Students will be following the full course (one GCSE grade 1-9)
Component One (A & B) are both equally weighted and worth 30% (15% each) of the overall grade. While the choreography (C) is worth 30%. All practical elements of the course are worth 60% of the overall grade.
Component Two (Dance Appreciation) is an hour and a half written exam and accounts for 40% of the overall grade.
