Studying science at GCSE is important because it provides a solid foundation for understanding the world around us. It helps develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that are valuable in everyday life and future careers. Science is essential for making informed decisions about health, the environment, and technology. It also opens up a wide range of career opportunities in fields like medicine, engineering, and research. Whether you plan to pursue further education or enter the workforce, science at GCSE equips you with the knowledge and skills needed for success.
Triple science is ideal for students who enjoy challenging content and want to pursue further studies in scientific fields. It also gives you the advantage of earning three separate GCSEs, which can be valuable when applying to colleges or universities after achieving good grades.
Critical Thinking – The ability to analyse information, make connections, and apply fundamental science concepts to explain real life situations.
Practical Skills – Competence in conducting experiments, recording accurate data, and understanding scientific methods.
Numeracy – Comfort with performing calculations, using formulas, and interpreting data from graphs and tables.

Combined Science trilogy
Students receive two grades in science.
Students sit a total of 6 exams, each covering specific content as shown above
Each paper is 1 hour 15 minutes.
There are two tiers of entry – Higher and Foundation
These range from grades 5-5 to 1-1 on the foundation tier, and grades 9-9 to 4-4 on the higher tier.
The Higher tier papers will cover more difficult subject content and the exam papers have more difficult question.
