We covered a wide range of topics, shared some kudos as well as a number of positive patient feedback comments.
Some of the specific topics covered included:
Medicare Annual Wellness Visits - we have resumed scheduling annual wellness visits at Bruner. Providers, please work with your MAs to get these scheduled when patients are being seen in clinic.
Kaiser patient orders - we are seeing Kaiser patients at Bruner. Please note that there are specific workflows to follow when ordering labs and pathology testing for these patients. The workflows are outlined in the presentation and also available on the clinic binder.
Behavioral health referrals to psychiatry - We reviewed the new process for referring patients to be seen by psychiatry at Uptown. Please review the process as described in the attached slides and sent out by email on 2/13.
New procedure time out workflow - the process for time outs prior to procedures has been simplified (hooray!). Required documentation elements are now embedded in procedure note smartphrase templates. Please note that you need to be using one of the clinic templates for procedures in order for the correct documentation to pull in.
UCHC law enforcement tip sheet - please review the attached tip sheet for the process to follow when law enforcement presents to clinic.
Weekend bilirubin orders - please note that the process to follow for weekend orders for bilirubin at Lutheran Hospital have changed. Please give parents/guardians an order form with the patient's name, dob, and the order. Please include your name and contact information for follow up on the lab results. For weekend orders, this should likely be the FMS pager unless you plan to follow up on the order yourself. The order can also be printed out of Epic.
Children's hospital imaging orders - unfortunately, results from Childrens Hospital imaging no longer come back into our version of Epic. They will instead result in CareEverywhere. If you place one of these orders, please create a reminder for yourself to check for the result.
BP rechecks- please continue to repeat blood pressures in clinic when the first is elevated. This helps our patients by giving us a more reliable blood pressure reading. It also helps our clinic's blood pressure control as 40 percent of elevated blood pressures normalize with the second check.
Please see the slides below for more information.
