On a Tuesday afternoon, civil rights leaders met with the community and faith leaders at Grace Lutheran Church.
On this day people decided to come together in the Grace Welcome Center, to rally against the injustices that were happening in the community.
Mr. Jackson joined the crowd at the start of the march and was among those at the front.
The marchers began their trek from the Regimen Barber Collective (1345 52nd St.) and ended at the church. There Jackson and a slew of other speakers took to the microphone to deliver their messages
The march started at 1345 53rd street and ended at the church. A collective of everyday people along with many activists crowded into the church to give many people hope via their words.
“We have a long-distance race to run,” Jackson said. “Red and Yellow, Brown, Black and White, we’re all Christians.
This quote exhibits what the Grace Welcome Center stands for, that everyone is a united front.
Regarding the event, Rev. Jonathan Barker, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church said he was pleased to see different people in the Kenosha community come together to seek justice. It shows the quest to end systemic racism in our community.
The pastor was delighted to see many people of different backgrounds huddled in the church. Mr. Barker is proud that his church was and part of the quest to end systemic racism
