There are about 20 People in the uptown area currently homeless but the number around the city is much higher than that.
This is a key idea because this is a growing problem in Kenosha that people need to be aware of.
It's important to understand that some people don't have a nice warm home to go to or get to spend their life somewhere nice.
At the beginning of the pandemic, Barker said the pantry was serving 40 people each week and now can serve up to 190 families or 676 individuals.
There were three people who slept outside, pastor Jonathan Barker, Denise Russell, and Maurice Baker who wanted to participate in the chance to live for just a few moments.
It is important because it explains the three people who did this not because they were forced to, but because they wanted to understand and raise awareness for people that are less fortunate.
The Grace Lutheran Welcome Center benefits from support from the community.
This is important because the Grace Welcome Center would not be as successful if it did not have help from the community and with this help, they are able to provide food and other resources, and they can raise awareness about the homeless problem in Kenosha.
Jonathan Barker: The Pastor and co-founder of the Welcome Center and food pantry.
Denise Russell: Food pantry director at the Grace Welcome Center.
Maurice Baker: He is an intern who had volunteered and helped make this event special.
