LESSON FOUR
Please read the following paragraph again. See how the words are used in the sentences. They have meanings and tell a story. Learn to focus on what you read and what the story is saying.
Jim was tardy for class. He did not want to go to school and his attitude was lax. He normally has much zeal for school, but he had stayed up too late the night before and was very tired. The upshot of his choice to stay up too late was that he had a willful attitude.
A big part of reading is to understand well what you are reading. Some people read in a hurry and do not fully get or understand what the words are saying. They do not really pay attention to what they are reading. Paying attention helps people to enjoy reading and understand what they are reading.
