The ALTESOL Language & Technology Research Group at Teachers College, Columbia University presents the 2023 Language and Technology Open House. Join us to learn about the Language and Technology specialization in the Applied Linguistics and TESOL program and our research into friendly and pedagogical artificial general intelligence (AGI) in applied linguistics.

Workshops
Workshop A: Corpus Linguistics Workshop: We will explore ways to analyze linguistic patterns in a large set of texts containing authentic written and spoken data (Software used: AntConc, LexTutor, & CHILDES)
Workshop B: Natural Language Processing (NLP) with Python Workshop: After a brief introduction to Python programming, we will explore different ways to utilize and analyze text data using Python (POS tagging, Lemmatizing, Parsing, Wordcloud, Frequency Distribution, Statistical Models, & Language Models)
