Amany Alkhayat

Amany Alkhayat is a doctoral student in the Instructional Technology and Media Program at Teachers College, with a background in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, holding a Master's degree in the same field from the American University in Cairo. Her research focuses on the integration of conversational AI and Extended Reality (XR) for language learning, and she is skilled in VR/AR/MR design and development. Currently, she is investigating the application of Conversational AI within XR settings


She is an active member of TESOL International, leading teacher training workshops in the Electronic Village within the Computer-Assisted Language Learning interest section. She also founded the New York State TESOL special interest group Technology Enhanced Language Learning in 2019. She is currently a graduate research assistant for the Belonging Project at Teachers College where she creates educational VR spaces and experiences.


Career goals:  instructional design, particularly in the area of immersive education.
