Yilin Zhang is a second-year MA student in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Teachers College, Columbia University, and currently serves as president of the Language & Technology Research Group. He brings extensive experience from both K–12 and higher education systems across the U.S. and China.
Yilin’s research focuses on integrating emerging technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) and Conversational AI to advance language assessment and learning. He is dedicated to building theory-informed, practical products and systems that leverage these technologies for innovative educational advancement.
Recently, Yilin presented at CALICO 2024 with a talk titled "Conversational AI for Learning English: A Systematic Review and Future Directions," and he will showcase his latest work at CALICO 2025 in San Diego.
