This unit, was all about pure contour. Pure contour is drawing something with only the outlines, so no shading. The idea behind these pieces was to be able to accurately draw a shoe from 3 different angles and my hand with only pure contour lines.  The materials for all of these were the same. I used a 6h or 4h graphite pencils to sketch out the shoe, then I went in with a 14b to make very crisp sharp lines. To make all of these pieces, I set up  the thing in front of me and drew it in real life.  I started by drawing my hand with a rubber band. I held my hand in front of me and drew what I saw. Then I did the same thing with my shoe, first drawing it from the side, then the front, then the top of the shoe.
