Space

In this piece I was really interested in exploring the concept of losing culture to Industrialization and gentrification. In the lower part of the Drawing there is a little fairytale village, representing culture as a whole. Above that is the silhouette of a power plant on the right, and a city on the left.

For this piece I started by sketching out what i wanted my piece to look like with graphite pencils. Then used black sharpie pens on the silhouette in the hopes of making it as dark as possible. I then used colored pencils to lightly color in the fairytale town. I finished by drawing the little pattern in all the negative spaces left empty.
