Graphite Self Portrait

For this project, we used a new method for drawing, which was the grid method. We then had to draw a selfie that we took.  

I used graphite on blue pastel paper and even though you said not to use your fingers to blend, I did use my fingers to blend because I still don't know how to use the paper thing.

It just took so long to do though, and my silly goofy brain had trouble not jumping to another square when I had only done a sketch of the first one. I'm pretty happy with the eyes though, I don't think they quite fall into realism, but I like the style in which I drew the shadows under my eyes. The foreshortening is also really funny to me, I like how my tongue sticks out in a goofy way.
