Pinch Technique

Little Snake, Big Egg.  3in x 2.5in x 3in Clay and Glaze

Big Snake, Little Egg.  3.75in x 1.75in x 1.25in Clay and Glaze

For this project, we had to create a set of ceramic objects with lids that utilized the pinch technique, and at least one of which had a handle and one of which had feet.

I used clay, which was easy enough. This was our first project where we actually sculpted, and I was a little lost, but I got the hang of it. I'm not very good at making smooth organic surfaces, but I think it worked out ok.

I had a clear idea of what to do for the first pot, which was the snake that eated an egg. But, I didn't have much of an idea for the second pinch pot. I settled on choosing the unified ideas of "big snake, little egg" and "little snake, big egg" in order to fulfill these two as a set, as well as painting them in the same colors, but swapped the inside and outside colors.
