Design Step 3

Evidence of Work:

In Design Step 3 process we have been working on our project pitch presentation for Project Exhibition Night. We have gathered every last bit of everything we worked on to show the San Marin High School community our biomedical engineering project. We were happy to see so many people on board with and interested in our project. We had a tri-fold poster that contained our project overview, conceptual sketches, market research, classification scheme and material analysis. We also had a slideshow that showed our gantt chart, customer survey results, list of mentors, mentor feedback, demands and wish lists, and project funding, as well as a flyer and prototype of a finger. We are very proud of our work and to be able to have showcased it to everyone. We also spoke with the STEM Coordinator and the board approved for us some materials to begin with, we will be receiving roughly 3 spools of polyterra PLA. It's nice to see our project coming along. We will very soon begin the process of 3D printing our prosthetic design on CAD/Autodesk with polyterra PLA.

Reflection:

So far our project is coming along really well, my team and I are working hard to begin the process of building our prototypes. Our next steps would be to design our prosthetic on an engineering software and 3D print with polyterra PLA, from there we will be able to test and readjust our models. Overall we are in good shape in terms of the quality of our project and other aspects of the project. We also got the board to approve our request for the materials and will be given the money to by 3 spools of polyterra. I believe we're good at communication and collaboration because our group work is evenly split and we all contribute. I think the only thing we would need to improve upon is time management which is just a conscientious learning skill but ultimately our work is really good in quality and in content. I'm looking forward to getting into Design Step 4 and eventually the building aspect of our project.
