Evidence of Work

For our project we had to choose an occurring problem in our world. After a day of deciding what problem to choose, we came to a conclusion of choosing deforestation. After deciding our problem we then had to look up three articles about deforestation and annotate the articles. As we were annotating our articles we found out many possible solutions to stop deforestation. After annotating our three articles we had to put all of our ideas together and come up with our solution to stop deforestation. After going through all of our ideas we came up with the ideas to use less paper as a way to stop deforestation and to create an improved box.

To use less papers we did this by putting newspapers online so that way paper is not getting wasted by newspapers, but instead used online where no paper is being used. Our other idea was using our improved box. The improved box is a cardboard box that is made out of plastic recycles that is returned or re-collect for a bonus of money. These boxes can be used for packages, carrying things, storing food and for anything else. The box also has a lockable lid that can be also detached. Using less paper and creating our improved box is our way of decreasing deforestation.

Engineering Design Cycle

Define the problem- We choose deforestation as our problem because it's one of the worlds biggest problems

Research problem- All 4 of us group members read through 3 different articles each about deforestation to find out all the problems.

Brainstorm solutions- We collected all of our possible solutions and put them on a list. Then we started crossing out all the unrealistic ideas. We came up with many solutions that could help solve deforestation.

Choosing solution- For our solution we choose using less paper to help stop deforestation.

Building prototype- We came up with an idea to create an improved box.

Repeat- Our repeat was to come up with our best ideas for our project.

Reflection

As a group we were able to communicate well together. We did this by sharing ideas and helping each other out. We also had positive attitudes and didn't argue with each other. All these things helped us complete our project. With positives there are usually a couple negatives. As a group we could have put a bit more effort in looking for reasonable ideas. Also we could have stayed on task more so we could have put more effort towards are project. But overall our project was really fun to learn about and a fun project in general.
