In the Murder Mystery project we were given a group of 3 that had to figure out the story line and murderer of the crime. First we had to analyze all of our data points to find and discover all the possible solutions of who could be the victim of the case. We went through many different ways to discover who could be the victim but we had to use our knowledge of DNA, forensic science, and knowledge of genes to find our victim.

Ink chromatography- is a method of separating out materials from a mixture.
- We used ink chromatography by finding out who was the suspect that used the pen.
Pedigree- A chart showing family relations and organization of diseases in the family and how they might be passed on. We have a pedigree represented above in the evidence section showing all the families connections.
- We used pedigree charts to find out the relationships and connections of suspects and there families.
DNA profiling- Determines an individuals DNA characteristics often used to identify diseases or compare blood of a suspect and blood at a crime scene.
- We used DNA profiling to find out if anything was wrong with suspects or if they were normal humans.
Restriction enzymes- Restriction enzymes are used in DNA profiling to separate DNA in specific sections.
- We used this to get a better look and understanding of all the suspects DNA and to compare there DNA with other suspects.
Karyotype- the number and visual appearance of the chromosomes in the cell nuclei of an organism or species.
- We used this as a part of identifying the present chromosomal disorders in the suspects and victims.
Paternity test- Test showing who a baby's father is.
- We used this to figure out if there was anything wrong with the suspect's father.
maternity test- Test showing who a baby's mother is.
- We used this to figure out if there was anything wrong with the suspect's mother.
Forensic Science- the discipline in which professionals use scientific means to analyze physical crime evidence
- We used this to imitate forensic science and the biology used to analyze evidence.
Suspect- A person of interest in a crime, in this instance Theresa Terra, Nancy Normal, Sam Sophomore, Glen Glee, and Fred Flimmer.
- We used suspect a lot in the project because we had 5 total suspects for this murder mystery.
Victim- The person affected in the crime.
- We used this in our project because Carelton Comet was our victim and only victim.
Blood type- Blood type is based on what proteins your blood has and include, A, B, AB, and O blood types and -/+ for each. There are some rarer forms but these are the most common.
- We used blood type to figure out who's blood matched the knife that was used to kill our victim.

Overall I felt like I did good on this project except for turning in the website late. I stayed pretty well on task and I did a couple of the assignments that we got as a group. One thing I did well on was critical thinking because I had to learn about many things that I had not really understood due to the project. I used critical thinking as a way to get my assignments done and to learn about the new science. Another thing that I worked on was collaboration because that was something that I wanted to work on and I feel like I became better at it. There were times where I was off task but overall I feel like I have gotten better. On thing that I should have done better was time-management because I would procrastinate a little bit and then rush to everything. But overall I had a good time with my group and was glad that we came up with Nancy Normal because we believe that she was the victim.
