NEXTGEN YEAR 1
NEXTGEN YEAR 1
I currently study at Doncaster College in South Yorkshire. I am currently studying NEXTGEN, which covers Games Design, Animation and VFX and I am learning multiple skills and how to use softwares and I am in the first year of my studies. I enjoy playing various genres of games, however, I'll always have a soft spot for FPS such as COD, which started my addiction! I also love watching films such as Inglourious Basterds and The Wolf Of Wall Street. My aim is to make the development of new media creative and exciting so it is something everyone wants to take part in. c
To be honest the majority of my time is spent playing games, but what games do I enjoy? I love FPS such as the older Call of Duty's... especially Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. Alongside run n gun arcade shooters I also like more tactical games such as Rainbow Six Siege. I play quite a few open world games such as the GTA and Saints Row franchise, but in my opinion I don't think any games can beat the city feel of GTA: V and the wacky fun of Saints Row 2!
I really enjoy war films, especially Inglourious Basterds, Black Hawk Down and Apocalypse Now. I also love biopics such as; The Wolf of Wall Street, Schindler's List and Oppenheimer.
I support Manchester United and I enjoy watching football in my spare time, even though I can't say they are doing very well as of late. I also love travelling and one of my biggest goals in life is finding work abroad as I love a warm climate and I just feel like the whole lifestyle and atmosphere is more my preference than England currently is.
I have experience with media and I really enjoy it but i also have a love for games, films and animated films so I felt like this course was meant for me as it combines them all!
I want to make creating things digitally an exciting thing to do and encourage more young people to take this course so the ideas and genres are always fresh. I also want to be creative and try to create new ideas that have never been used in that way before and hope that they are ground-breaking and help revolutionise the industry.
Currently, I work at the local pub, therefore, I know what it is like to be in a workplace and I would be great with speaking to people as I can talk to hundreds of people every day! I also get on with everyone there and I feel like I can put these skills to good use in the sectors that NEXTGEN covers.
