PEGI (Pan-European Games Information) provides age classification for games in a total of 38 European countries! They also list all the harmful content that is represented inside the games so they can determine what ages are appropriate in order to play the game!
Games rated PEGI 3 are considered suitable for all age groups and only comical violence is accepted but 0 bad language is accepted. Sounds or scenes that may scare younger audiences arent allowed.
Games rated PEGI 7 contains sounds or scenes that may scare younger children. Mild and non-detailed violence is accepted for games within this category.
Games rated PEGI 12 show a slightly more graphic nature towards fantasy or non realistic violence towards human characters. Bad langauge must be mild and sexual posturing can be present.
When the sexual content/violence reaches a level that is similar with real life. The bad language in this category can be more extreme and the use of tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs may also be present
When the level of violence reaches a stage where it becomes a depiction of gross violence, motiveless killing or violence towards defenceless. Glamorisation of illegal drugs and alcohol falls into this category as does explicit sexual activity.
