Learning objective = Students use their understanding of ratios to solve problems using rate, defined as a special type of ratio. They write two unit rates for the same situation and consider which one is most useful based on the question. Students solve problems by determining the better buy, comparing rates in real-world situations, and using rates to make predictions.

Parents can support learning at home by helping students connect this week’s lesson to real-life examples and practice explaining their thinking. Encourage your child to explain each step aloud rather than simply memorize a rule = SAMPLE TEST QUESTIONS + MORE QUESTIONS
***If your child needs more challenge, they can move at a faster pace by using this site to study the concepts of future lessons. Mr. Pierre will strive to prepare lessons two weeks ahead of the current week. Also, Khan Academy is a great enrichment resource***
