We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we gather today -
The Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Lord Jesus,
Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do and seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day,
We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.
To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!'
Amen.
What a beautiful and powerful hymn! MARANATHA ('Come Lord Jesus') is so relevant for the season, and we have been enjoying listening to it during our staff meetings

Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we have already reached Week 10. As we enter the season of Advent, I would like to thank all our wonderful families for your ongoing support. Advent is more than a countdown to Christmas, it's a time for reflection and a reminder of hope, unity, and joy. The Advent wreath, with its candles symbolising Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace, encourages us to pause, prepare, and reflect. With each candle we light each week, our sense of anticipation grows, along with the virtues they represent.

2026 Class Allocations and Step Up Day
Tomorrow (Friday), the children will spend time with their 2026 class and teacher (Step Up Day). As I have mentioned on many occasions, our class groups are thoughtfully and carefully planned, taking into account students’ social and emotional needs as well as their academic abilities. Creating balanced classes is a complex process and it is not possible to accommodate every preference. As classes are now finalised, no further changes or movements to other classes will be made.
Year 6 Graduation
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who will celebrate their Graduation this evening. Mass will begin at 5:00pm, and we kindly ask all students and families to arrive by 4:45pm.
2026 Start Dates and Testing Days

Semester 2 Reports
Please see below information regarding accessing your child/rens reports. Our student reports provide a snapshot of progress, achievements, and growth throughout the year. They highlight learning success, celebrate their strengths, and identify areas for continued development. These reports are an important reflection of the effort, dedication, and hard work your child has shown in their learning journey.
Farewells
As the school year concludes, it is also a time to acknowledge and farewell several valued members of our staff who will be leaving STM at the end of 2025:
Isabella Coletti who has been working here at STM since 2023 as an LSO. She has also worked with our children in the capacity of a teacher. I wish her all the very best as she commences her teaching career at Corpus Christi Primary School.
Clare Denney who has been working here at STM since 2024 as an LSO. I wish her all the very best in her teaching career which will begin in 2026 at St Oliver Plunkett Primary School.
Rita Barsoum who will be beginning her maternity leave at the end of 2025. I wish her all the very best and I am sure we will see her back here at STM in the near future.
School Advisory Council
As we approach the end of another successful year, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of our School Advisory Council for their dedication, guidance, and support throughout 2025.
A special thank you to Anthony Grima as Chair, Corina Panzera, Rose Caruso, Michael Tucci, Renata Kegel, Danny Ward, Kumbi Nzenza and Michelle Rinaldi for their invaluable contributions. Your collective wisdom, thoughtful insights, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in shaping the direction of our school and ensuring the best outcomes for our students, staff, and families.
Your efforts have made a significant and lasting impact on our school community, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated individuals working in partnership with us.
Last Day of School
The final day of school, Tuesday, 16 December, will be a casual clothes day. We kindly ask for a donation to Hope in a Suitcase. Donations can be made via CDF Pay. Hope in a Suitcase is a volunteer-run charity that supports children entering foster care by providing them with a suitcase filled with brand-new essentials such as clothing, toiletries, books, and comfort items. Many children enter care with very few belongings, and this simple act helps restore dignity, offers comfort, and gives them something to call their own during a challenging time. The organisation relies on community donations and volunteers to make this meaningful support possible.
Please note that students will be dismissed at 12:00pm. We will gather for a special guard of honour, and our Grade 6 students will perform their Graduation song once more. Parents are warmly invited to join us on-site for this event.
Merry Christmas!
David Hurn
Principal

A final note from us, to say a big GRAZIE to students, teachers and parents for the support of our wonderful TCL (Teachers as Co-Learners) Language teaching approach.
