We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we gather today -
The Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Dear Lord,
May we work to end poverty and injustice so all people can live life in dignity.
You call us to look beyond our own interests to what is good for all people.
May we work towards a world where everyone has their fair share in order to live life to the full.
We give thanks for you always.
Amen.
Dear Families,
I hope all are well as we get closer to warmer weather and Christmas. Please take note of an email sent last week regarding 2024 school fees and levies. I would like to remind families that direct debit forms are due back next on Monday December 4. If you need further information please contact the office.
Our annual Christmas Carols are creeping up on us. This year it will be held on Thursday December 6 commencing from 5:30pm. We will all gather on the senior green (weather dependent) to enjoy this beautiful night. Icy poles and water will be available to purchase on the night. Families are encouraged to bring outdoor chairs or a picnic rug to make yourselves comfortable during the performances. Students will be sitting in their class groups. Clara Privitera sent out an email invitation on November 15.
Our teachers have been working extremely hard to finalise assessments and prepare your child’s end of year report. These reports will provide you with a clear understanding of where your child sits in relation to expected standards for their year level. In combination with See Saw posts throughout the year, this formal report includes:
• a summary graph indicating your child’s level of progress against the curriculum standards (dots)
• a general comment including information about your child’s learning dispositions
• Religious Education is included in your child’s report and will include an overview for the semester as well as assessment levels against learning descriptors.
You will be able to access your child’s report again via the online parent portal from December 8. Further instructions on how to access the parent portal will be provided via email shortly.
We will be farewelling Archal Kumar, Ally Hakim, Holy Gibson, Courtney Gleeson and Chloe Ciavarella at the end of this year. All of these staff members have had a positive impact on our school and I wish them all the very best for the future.
We have been receiving some concerns regarding traffic congestion at the end of the school day at the North Street entrance. Please ensure you are not blocking cars that are trying to locate parking within the Church car park. It is important that we are mindful of families walking within the car park and that we are driving at a safe speed.
On Tuesday December 5 we will be providing a morning tea for those families who have generously given their time to help our school (Volunteers Day). An RSVP form is linked below to confirm numbers for catering purposes. It would be lovely to see as many volunteers as possible attend this special morning tea.
Regards,
David Hurn

Author’s Corner
This week, a few of our year 3 students share extracts from their narrative pieces developed in class. Notice their clever choice of vocabulary which immediately captures the reader’s attention.
Through the mysterious night there roams a little light. It sprinkles little growing sprinkles on childrens’ foreheads.
One afternoon a girl and her brother met up at a train station to go to the jar store. They were planning to stay up tonight to catch a mythical creature. They were doing this because they have realised that when they're asleep and having a nightmare, they feel dust on their forehead, and at this same time their nightmare turns into a great dream. They believe a creature is doing this. After they brought an empty jar, they walked home wondering if it was the right thing to do, to catch a creature.
Frankie (year 3)
There is a tree that holds many lives, and in that tree a bird had been abandoned with nowhere to go. That bird is me! Hi, I'm the seagull who lost its home. I need your help to get me to a new, comfortable, safe, especially safe home. Oh... and did I say safe? I've nearly flown over every tropical beach and I can't find one I like (I know, I'm picky).
Amelia (year 3)
In Cherry's town, where the calm water splashes the soft sand, and the burning sun gives you a nice tan (if you have sunscreen on)... there is a pier.
Cherry sits, dangling his legs over the edge of the pier. He watches his friends jumping off and into the water, while he's just wishing he was brave enough to jump too. Cherry gets his towel, sits on it and watches his phone. "Jump! Jump!" his friends scream. Lerry splashes him and laughs.
