    • How to add a sound file and use sound blocks
    • How to have sprite play a sound file
  • Sign in to Scratch and:
    • Make sure you have a background, 5 sprites with code to position correctly when the program starts
    • Add code for when each arrow key and the space bar is pressed to play the sounds for a sprite
  • Done? Typing lessons in Dance Mat Typing or ABC Mouse or draw a picture in Tux Paint or ABCYa 2nd Grade activities

May 11th:

  • Whole Class: How to change your avatar in Scratch
  • Whole Class: Introduction to Sound Board Project
  • Sign in to Scratch and update your avatar
  • Create a Scratch Sound Board Project
    • Add a background for project
    • Add 5 sprites for your project
      • Position where you want them to start
      • Add Green Flag and Go To blocks to have sprite start in proper position. May need a Switch Costume block as well

May 4th & 8th:

  • Finish redrawing The Academy at Saint Mary monsters:
    • Read the description before you go into Tux Paint
    • In Tux Paint and draw the monster described - make sure you complete each step
      • If there is no color given, choose a color that you think makes sense
      • If there is no shape given, choose a shape that makes sense
      • If there is no number given for something with more than one, choose a number that makes sense
    • Before you say you are done, re-read the description and check your monster to make sure you aren't missing anything

    • What are the rules for stacking?
      • Each student will have 2 attempts to create a cookie stack.
      • Students will place one cookie on the paper plate/table cloth and add one cookie at a time to the stack.
      • Students may NOT adjust the cookie after they have placed the cookie on the stack and moved their hand away.
      • Cookies need to be freestanding and NOT leaning against any kind of support or use any kind of adhesion so they stick together.
      • Cookie needs to be a regular cookie and not separated in ANY way.
      • Another student should be tallying as the student stacks.
      • A tumble has occurred once 1 or more cookies have tumbled off the stack. The complete stack DOES not need to completely tumble for it to be called a tumble.
