  • Sign in to Scratch and work on your Drawing Shapes in Scratch project:
    • Change the Name of the project - Shapes by Your Name
    • Draw a square
    • Change the code to draw a square in a loop
    • Can you change the color of the square?
    • Can you change the width of the lines?
    • Can you add a new sprite and have it draw a triangle, a pentagon, or an octagon OR can you draw a triangle on top of your square so it looks like a house with a roof?

May 30th:

  • Whole Class:
    • Have students tell me how to draw a square on the board.
    • Demonstrate how to remix a project in Scratch.
  • Draw a Square in Scratch.
    • See inside and click the remix button

May 11th - 18th:

  • Whole Class: Adding Code to your All About Me
  • Sign in to Scratch and:
    • Finish drawing you.
    • Add a background to your project that is something about you.
    • Add 3 other sprites that tell something about you - you can draw these or use existing sprites.
    • Have the sprite that is you introduce yourself with your name and how old you are. Also, tell why you have the background you do.
    • Have each of the other sprites explain why they are in the project when you click on them.

May 9th:

  • Whole Class: Scratch Reminders
    • Drawing Sprites
    • Getting a Background
    • How to use Say blocks
  • Sign in to Scratch and:
    • Finish drawing you
    • Add a background to your project that is something about you

  • Ocean Scene Gallery Walk:
    • Sign in to Scratch and open your Ocean Scene project full screen.
    • Write your name on a post-it and attach it to the bottom or your monitor.
    • Take down your headphones and put them by your keyboard so your classmates can easily use them and stand up.
    • Visit each Ocean Scene and leave a post-it comment for your classmates. If you think they can improve something it's okay to say so but be nice.

April 6th:
