Research suggests that organizational change projects fail up to seventy percent of the time (Gilbert, 2009, Hubbart, 2023). Yet, there is an almost universal agreement on the importance of change in organizations; therefore, organizations are continually trying to adapt to
ever-changing conditions (Olusegun, 2018; Hubbart, 2023). They leverage change because they may want to increase their global presence, improve nimbleness, be innovative, use it as a strategic growth model, and/or become more sustainable (Anand & Barsoux, 2017).
This presentation focuses on learning from leaders of people, also known as middle-manager leaders, to understand how they view themselves as either a change agent or barrier to change. Additionally, based on survey data, Katie will reveal insights gained from what this group of leaders needs to help increase the success rate of organizational change events.
