2021 Vision - Parents

Silver Success!

On Tuesday evening, Miss Moore, accompanied by a few children, parents and allotment mentors, attended the Guildford in Bloom Awards Ceremony at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford. They waited patiently for the allotment category and were delighted when it was announced our school allotment had won a Silver Gilt Award! Proudly they walked on to the stage to be photographed with the Mayoress of Guildford and collected our certificate.

Well done to all the Year 4 children and allotment helpers who worked so hard on the school allotment this year. A great team effort!

Summer Holidays

What a joy to hear about all the experiences the children enjoyed during their summer holidays! Gabriella and Jovana even kept diaries of their adventures and it was a real pleasure to be invited to share these - thank you girls.

B - 24th Ordinary

Who am I?

In our first Gospel Worship of the year (24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B), Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do people say I am?" It is an important question that we are invited to reflect on in our own lives too: what do people say about me? What is my reputation? Who am I most like?

After the disciples offer some tentative suggestions (John the Baptist and Elijah) it is Peter who has the courage and conviction to proclaim, "You are the Christ." Like Peter, we want to be a community that is proud to profess Christ Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.

We will be asking the children this week what people say about them and what they say about Christ.

Knowing Christ

Miss Birtles led the first Witness Worship of the Year, introducing the children to the unbelievable life story of St Augustine - a man who was adamant that he did not know Christ.

As he grew up, Augustine resisted the encouragements of his mum, to learn to know Christ. However, God works in mysterious ways and, after many wrong turns, Augustine grew into one of the most celebrated saints in the history of the Church. He became a man who was proud to say, "Jesus is Lord."
