Preparing for Christ

This week’s worship focus has been on the message of John the Baptist, “Prepare a way for the Lord!” (2nd Sunday of Advent - Year C). There are so many creative and meaningful ways we can prepare our hearts, minds and souls this Christmas.

We have been exploring with the children the difference between preparing for Christmas and preparing for Christ. Engaging in rich, meaningful Church traditions can be a powerful way of helping to welcome Christ into our lives once again this season: advent wreaths, Jesse trees and nativity scenes. Preparing our families...

In Witness Worship this week, Mrs Le Vallee celebrates the achievements and contribution of a very special member of our parish community: our Children, Youth & Families coordinator - Aseel.

Aseel has committed her life's work to supporting parents to prepare their children to meet Christ through the sacraments of the Catholic Church. She is a great friend to our school and a source of inspiration for many of our young people.

Thank you Aseel for everything you do to help us prepare for Christmas, and for Christ!

Back to basics

What a fantastic morning Year 5 have had!

They have been able to consolidate their understanding of the Anglo-Saxons through a morning of arts and crafts with our Anglo-Saxon experts who were able to talk through the events happening in the country at that time via video link. Activities included name writing using a quill and ink, designing coins which would be used to keep out the Vikings, creating a game of draughts (lots of maths used to measure the boards) and braid and arrow head making.

It was so wonderful to see everyone so engaged. Thank you for all your efforts with the costumes - this made the day even more special.

Proud to Play

A huge pat on the back to our confident Year 6 boys football teams - Comets and Rockets. Both teams represented the school last week and made us very proud - the compliments on their sportsmanship and fair play were a joy to hear.
