LEARN
Staff have high aspirations for our CECYP There is regular and robust tracking and monitoring of:
Attendance and late-coming
Literacy & Numeracy Progress
Wellbeing & Participation
Appropriate interventions are undertaken when gaps arise or a child/young person is off track in any areas. Remember if a child is looked after there is an assumption of ASN, unless proven otherwise, so support should be given from relevant professionals
PARTICIPATE
Support engagement in extracurricular opportunities.
Seek out and share opportunities outside of school to support children eg mentoring, clubs, activities.
Encourage families/carers to attend school regularly and ensure they feel welcomed.
Promote information about care in a non-stigmatising way in school communication and events
FLOURISH
The trusted adult to ‘check in’ with pupil, be aware of changes in circumstances and offer support to pupil and family.
Whole school teaching in Care Week to de-stigmatise care experience
Corporate Parent mentality - What would you want for your own child?
Access funding that is available to support participation and flourishing of CE pupils.
Engage all staff in appropriate CLPL around care and the impact of care experience.
