Words to describe Elisa
Elisa Lambert - Juvenile Justice Resource Analyst
About Elisa:
I have really enjoyed working for DYS this past year and have loved getting to know our team. Colorado is an exciting state to work for, and I'm proud of all the hard work we are doing to continually improve. I'm honored to be a part of that effort.
Outside of work, I love working on almost any kind of hands-on creative project. I'm part of an arts guild in my local community and enjoy painting, music, gardening, and writing. I love hosting people for board games, food, and firepit nights. I believe good food is one of the keys to community, and love trying to make (and eat) new cuisines. I also love philosophy, deep conversations and getting to know what others are passionate about. Of course, I love getting outside as much as possible, especially via archery, hiking, camping, and kayaking. I have an Australian Shepherd, and a Subaru now, so I guess I'm well on my way to that Patagonia life.
I look forward to continuing to get to know you all over the next few years and finding out what we have in common!

Although Elisa has been with the Division for less than a year (September 2022), she has already proven to be an irreplaceable asset to the DMA team demonstrating her contribution to DYS’s quality staff. Tasked with helping to create the Performance Standards and Metrics for the Senate Bill 21-071 Legislative Report, Elisa has demonstrated her innovative problem solving and strong analytical skills. Gaining momentum as the Division’s Detention Data expert, Elisa works hard every day to ensure the data our team delivers tells the right story to ensure youth are receiving the best services possible at the right time. Elisa has gone above and beyond over the last couple of months to contribute to the Senate Bill 21-071 Legislative Report that will contribute to the improvement of several different aspects for the Colorado Youth Detention Continuum. Elisa practices non-violence in the workplace in order to ensure DYS’s commitment to safe environments. Through all of her hard work, Elisa remains patient, respectful, and driven. We could not have asked for a better Juvenile Justice Resource Analyst!
Our teams are all back in person at least a couple of days a week and the buildings are buzzing. Folks are meeting in person, getting reaquainted and making new connections. The Director's Office will be sending a monthly email reminder encouraging staff to find time to meet with another central office colleague or two or three. This is a simple and fun way to connect, get around the office, meet new people, understand what is happening in different work units, and chat about non-work related activities you may engage in. The connection could take 1 minute, or it could take 30 minutes. The goal is to connect, say hello, show care for fellow colleagues, and build a strong team connection over our complex, wide-spread areas within the central office.

Before we have thought processes, we have emotions. Hard-wired into our brains and bodies, emotions provide us with the first information that we have about the world, what to avoid and what to approach, what to like and not like, what to fear and not fear, what we need to survive.
A healthy organization is able to contain and manage the difficult and distressing emotions of the people who comprise the organization. Fear, anxiety, anger, shame, grief, and frustration are unavoidable feelings in all of our lives. Happiness, contentment, satisfaction, curious, proud, and gratefulness are also frequently experienced feelings in our lives. And all of these (and many more!) contribute to and influence our daily interactions with our colleagues, as well as our friends and families.
Some tips to keep in mind:
Emotions guide how we interact with others, make decisions, problem solve, and relate to our environment.
Are your emotions healthy or risky?
Do your emotions rule your day?
How do your emotions influence your decisions and choices?

Participation is not limited to these select Tuesdays. Be spontaneous! Ask your teammates OR someone you normally don't work with to join you for lunch any day!
