About Marina
One thing Marina would like to share is that she is a huge Disney fan and a big kid in heart. Also, her favorite place to visit it is... you guessed it - Disney World. Her favorite family vacation was Disney World in 2023.
Marina says, "I am very proud of my Bosnian heritage and Croatian nationality and I share it with my friends and family here in America. It's a small world, after all (Disney) 🙂"
Marina and Sanctuary
Open Communication
Marina does a weekly call with all the Division's PAs that is amazingly informative and supportive; and she does a newsletter that keeps everyone informed
Growth and Change
With the new structure with HRBPs, Marina has stepped in and helped ease that transition for everyone. She also helps the PAs with what is changing with systems and processes
Social Learning
Marina is quick to jump in and help and she teaches along the way
Marina literally rolls up her sleeves and dives in wherever needed. She helps with everything from recruitment to writing job descriptions to teaching to connecting folks with the right people in the right departments to get our jobs done efficiently and effectively and she does it all in a seemingly effortless way AND with a smile and a joke .

There are a lot of ways to define "inspiration" and they are all inherently deeply personal. Therefore, here are some inspirational quotes that resonate with the work we all do to help some of the most vulnerable in our society.
"Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts." (Churchill)
"There is always light. If only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it." (Gorman)
"Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire."
"When you know better, do better." (Angelou)
Tomorrow is a new day
Making mistakes is part of life
Saying "no" is okay
Beauty and strength come from within
EDI Thought for the month: Gratitude
By Fitzgerald Clark, DYS Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
As we are in the midst of the holiday season for many, it is an appropriate time to consider the importance of gratitude as one of those values that can bind us together. Gratitude has so many beneficial elements when we practice it. It is one of the practices that fosters inclusion. When we show appreciation for and gratitude towards our colleagues this enhances the positive and healthy work culture that we all want to be in.
When we practice gratitude towards others and share why we appreciate them, we practice open communication and emotional intelligence. Finding actions and practices in others that we can sincerely praise and be grateful for, lightens the spirits and energizes us when we know that the work we do and how we do it, is noticed and appreciated.
When we practice gratitude for the things in our life, it will often be a boon to our self-care and emotional wellbeing. It can replace our own negative thoughts with feelings of positivity for the blessings in our lives.
So let’s practice gratitude in abundance. Let us reflect on the people and things in our life that brings us joy and make our lives better. Let us be sure to share our gratitude with those who in even small ways contribute to making our lives better, happier and more fulfilling. May this holiday season for you be filled with joy, blessings and a heart full of gratitude.

Harvey Baskets
In November this team collaborated and put together three Harvey baskets to support our DYS community.
It started around 2005 when Central Region Client Manager Kathy Harvey, who retired in 2011, decided to start a Thanksgiving collection. She and others helped fill a basket with non-perishable items, King Soopers gift cards, and money to help buy food items. Each donation earned a raffle ticket for the drawing at the Region meeting. The winner could then give the basket to a needy family of their choice.
Over the years, the Harvey Basket collection has grown from one basket to five baskets that are then given away each Thanksgiving. Thanks to the generosity of Central Region and Central Office staff, the baskets are also topped off with a turkey as well!
Thank you for your generosity and support, Central Office! Well done.
