Dramatic or Fantasy play is primarily used in Early Childhood Classrooms to build social skills, harness the imagination, and is a way for children to mimic what they see in the real world. Throughout their school years, this idea of "play" is lost as pencil and paper activities take precedent for shaping the minds of our children. This presentation will demonstrate how we can use dramatic or fantasy play in all classrooms, including those in middle and high school, to make learning more engaging for our learners. Not only will we be discussing ideas of different classroom transformations, but I will also be sharing resources you can use for free! I will also be showing my website that is free to access and houses different resources free to use as well.

Teaching the nature of science (NOS) has been an ongoing national goal of the American education system for over 100 years. Scientific inquiry has become one of the main methods used to help promote teaching the nature of science. However, there is still a lack of consistency with teaching the nature of science through inquiry. Teaching the nature of science helps to promote scientific proficiency in students. The argumentation aspect of inquiry is a critical component of scientific inquiry. Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) is one strategy that can be useful in helping to develop inquiry skills in students which then helps to promote scientific proficiency. This presentation will review using ADI in practice and handouts will be provided to implement ADI in the classroom.
