Course Description:
In grade three, students will explore early colonial life in the United States with a specific perspective on the impacts settlers had on South Carolina. Students will start by exploring geographical skills and physical landscapes of South Carolina. The formation of government systems within the state will be examined and students will discuss their responsibilities as citizens of South Carolina. The diversity and culture of Native American tribes will be examined and students will discuss how they interacted with the settlers. Students will also analyze the creation of the thirteen colonies and what life was like within each.
