"From Unmotivated To Motiveted"
by Pietro V.
Dear Year 7 Student,
I am a year 9 student and I hope to get some advice on feeling unmotivated. Lately, I have been feeling constantly overwhelmed and most things fail to cheer me up. I have considered this might be closely related to the nervousness leading up to my graduation, after which, I’ll begin attending another school. I keep questioning whether I’ll adapt to new surroundings or not. All of that, combined with the stress of finishing school projects within a due date, have started affecting my academic performance.
However, that is not my biggest concern, as I have even lost interest in a lot of my hobbies. I feel unmotivated and have almost completely given up on playing the piano. Most times, I just end up scrolling endlessly on my phone until late at night. In the end, I lack many necessary hours of sleep and have trouble waking up in the morning.
I would really appreciate your input on what I should do.
Best regards,
Year 9 student
Dear Y9 student,
I'm going to help you in your overwhelming time. I understand . A suggestion I give to you is to give yourself a day to relax, because just studying is not good for your health. Another idea is. Try to talk to your mother, and see if she could put you to talk to a Herbalist or a Psychologist.
In my experience, instead of scrolling the cellphone, you could try to read a book, that works really well. I think that your problem of using your cellphone until late at night is caused by studying a lot. If you just use the cellphone, your brain can’t concentrate. Instead, try to draw or play some sports you like. Because you might forget all you've learned yesterday. If you continue using the cellphone, you will need to re study all you learned. If you followed, this will probably make you feel less unmotivated.
As you have lost interest in playing piano, try to discover new hobbies. Because most people lose interest in a hobby, and it is normal. If you try a new activity, you can discover a new interest in something you didn’t know. If you discover something new, you will have new interests. If you tried, this will make your old hobby become a new one that you can like even more. Try, there we have a higher chance of working then this advice of mine fails.
If this all fails, ask your mother or father, to talk to a therapist or a hebiatrist. In my experience, the hebiatrist helped me a lot. If don’t work try the therapist, because every single thing you say they can’t tell your mom. Just things like she think is dangerous like using drugs. I really hope it works, and that it was useful for you. I wish that you feel better and you best, so that your struggle ends.
Sincerely,
Y7 - Pietro.V
