"How Sleep Earlier With A Busy Routine"
by Bernardo P.
Dear year 7 student,
I’m a year 9 student and I’ve been facing some difficulties this year, for example going to bed lately. Due to that, I need some advice to help me deal with this problem, because it influences my whole routine and this is horrible because I stay tired all day. As a result, I can’t give my best and improve on the activities, as I have no energy.
Moreover, to make it worse, I have championship games almost every week, and the games always start at 7pm and the duration is about 3 hours, so I get home very late and as a consequence, I get exhausted because besides those games, I have to go to school, which demands a lot of me. This is why I need your help to solve my situation, because it's affecting my school, specifically, my academic performance. My grades are getting gradually worse, they are lowering a lot. I'm getting really concerned about it. In addition, some teachers have already talked to me about it, which made me think and regret my attitudes related to my routine.
I would really appreciate your help because I have no idea on how to deal with this problem. Could you please help me?
Best regards,

Dear Y9 student,
I recently read your letter. Unfortunately, I concluded that you are sleeping late. I have a solution to your problem, try to organize your routine better, you must go to bed earlier.
I really think about your problem, it’s mainly caused by the championship. If you don't go to bed early, you don't feel ok. I analysed your situation, the championship takes 3 hours, starts at 7p.m, finishes at 10p.m, it makes you tired all day, also, you can’t do your best in school. If you have time, you will study. I will explain your problem, you’re going to bed lately, because you have a championship, the next day you will be tired, and the grades will decline. It is usually a good idea to wake up later, go to school later, during recess, if it isn't something important. If there is something important my advice is, according to Healthline, doing some catnaps of 20 to 30 minutes during your day can help you physically and mentally. If you had some catnaps during the day, you would be better.
Your academic performance is decreasing and we want them to increase. If you don’t study, you decrease your grades. Many times when you are tired it’s very difficult to pay attention in class. That’s why your academic performance is significantly decreasing. To study less at home, because at home you can rest. According to StanfordReport, study improves your exam scores. Sometimes at school you can study, like at the first time of the Dual Day. If you don’t do the Dual Day, I highly recommend that you study at the library in play or at the school exit, if you can’t in both study at home. If you studied at school, you would sleep earlier.
Study at school, do some catnaps at home and you will be better prepared for your exams, for the championship game, and some other reasons that I explained earlier. In my experience, these work really well, if it doesn’t work. You can try to study at home, 20 to 30 minutes, so you will not go to bed late. I really hope that you feel well, and that my advice works and will be useful for you. I wish good luck to your championship games, and for your next exams, that you can sleep earlier. It's a pleasure to help you.
Sincerely,
Y7 - Bernardo Pereira
