A Message from Administration

Next week is a very special week for our eighth graders.  On Wednesday, February 21, they will be celebrating Grandparent’s Day, and on Thursday, February 22, they will be celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation.

On Wednesday, our eighth-grade students will be celebrating Mass with their grandparents, or a special person that they have invited to share the day with.  After Mass, the students, along with their guest(s), decorate a small wooden cross to serve as a reminder of this special time.  The crosses are then displayed at the Confirmation Mass on Thursday.

On Thursday, we will be celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation with our Archdiocesan Vicar general:  Father Jeff Shooner.  Our eighth graders will be presented to Father Shooner and anointed with the chrism oil giving strength to live out their baptism and sealing them with the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s gifts.

One of my favorite steps in the preparation for Confirmation is the interview process in which each candidate is interviewed to discuss saint names, sponsors, and preparedness in entering into this sacrament.  I had the chance to interview several of our candidates, and it was such a wonderful experience to listen to their experiences and influences in their walks of faith.  (And I learned a lot from them as well!)  This commitment of faith is such a beautiful representation of the many influences in each candidate’s life:  parents, siblings, grandparents, family, friends, teachers, and experiences…  It’s such an honor to be able to witness this sacrament of Confirmation.

Book Bee -4th Grade Coach Needed

The Archdiocese of Louisville Book Bee competition will take place on May 11th! Book Bee is a competition where a team of up to twelve students read a list of books for their grade level and answer detailed questions about those books on the competition day. This is a wonderful extracurricular activity for students who enjoy reading! St. Albert is in need of a coach for the fourth-grade team. If you are interested in coaching the fourth-grade team or would like to know more about Book Bee, please contact Lindsey Choi at lchoi@stalbert.org.

The 2024-2025 St. Albert school calendar is ready!

The process of setting St. Albert’s school calendar starts with the Archdiocese giving us a “skeleton” calendar.  From there, we sit down and start the puzzle of making sure we have the required amount of days and time of instruction while trying to meet the needs of our faculty, staff, and families.

The 2024-2025 school calendar has some changes be aware of:
