Because my role looks so different from that of a traditional classroom teacher, I feel that it is important to keep some sort of record for how I spend my time. To do this, I have created a digital form that I make every attempt to fill out daily during the last five minutes of my workday. It is helpful for me to review this data periodically to see where I am spending most of my time. It has also been useful to compare one year to the next as I have now been doing this for several years. Please see a snapshot of some of my summary data below:
This school year marks the fifth year that I have kept a running list of usernames and passwords for the classrooms in our elementary school. At the beginning of each school year, specific student data needs to be uploaded into our many online subscription services, rosters need to be built or updated and usernames and passwords distributed school-wide. I keep a spreadsheet of these updates and changes and then I create a spreadsheet merge to create a password card for each student in our elementary. Below is a template created to use for this spreadsheet merge:
I keep a running spreadsheet of all the tools and resources at each grade level of our elementary building. I add and subtract from this sheet as teachers request new tools or old tools become obselete. This tool helps me to stay organized and stay on top of the resources that are being used by our teachers and staff. It is my goal to update the spreadsheet monthly corresponding to teacher requests for new tools.
