Please complete the following activities with your child. These activities can be completed throughout the week at your own pace.
Click on the link to the right to listen to the story read-aloud.
You can listen to this story several times throughout the week
Expressive Language: Using the pictures below practice saying the name of each character from the book. Then put them to sleep. Say "Dog sleep" or "Goodnight Dog." If you are able, print the picture and cut out the pieces. Then glue the characters on the bed.
Extension Activity: Act out the story. Pretend to nap on a bed. Have your child put stuffed animals on the bed while naming them. Then have everyone wake up and hop out of bed.
Extension Activity-more difficult: Use sentences to describe the actions in the book. "The dog is sleeping." "They are sleeping" practice using "is", "are" and sleep-ing (or napping).
Receptive Language: Ask your child to point to an object or picture from the story. "Where is the dog?" "Where is your bed?"
