Please complete the following activities with your child. These activities can be completed throughout the week at your own pace.
Expressive Language: Using the pictures of the animals below, ask your child to name each animal. Use the carrier phrase, "I see ________". If your child has difficulty saying the whole sentence, you can say it for them first and see if they will repeat it (ie: I see a camel). If they don't repeat it, it's okay.
Receptive Language: Name each item of animal and ask your child to touch the picture (ie: "Touch apple"). If they don't touch it, gently move their hand to touch the picture.
Extension Activity One: See if your child can expand the sentence by describing the the animal by traits. For example, "The frog is jumpy" or "The lion is fierce/scary."
Extension Activity Two: For an easier activity, have your child make the sounds of each animal or act out the actions of the animal. For example, say "ribbit" or jump like a frog.
