Please complete the following activities with your child. These activities can be completed throughout the week at your own pace.
Expressive Language: Using the pictures of the animals from the story, make the sound each animal makes and have your child tell you what they hear (ie: I hear a lion). If your child has difficulty saying the whole sentence, you can say it and see if they will repeat it. If they don't repeat it or if they just say the animal's name, that's okay.
Extension Activity: Ask your child, "What does the animal say?" You can say the sentence for them and see if they will repeat it, ie: "The lion roars." If they can't say the whole sentences, see if they will say, "roar" or make the animal sound. You can model it for them and see if they will repeat it.
Receptive Language: Using the pictures below, ask your child, "Touch the animal that _______." (ie: Touch the animal that roars). If they don't touch it, gently move their hand to touch the picture.
