What's a high school resume? Why should I care?
As a high school student -- as a junior or senior -- writing the resume is a time-consuming, daunting task. How does one demonstrate aptitude without much (or any) work or volunteer experience?Â
GREAT NEWS --> Even writing your first resume, chances are that you have more work experience than you think. Experiences like babysitting, lawn mowing, and volunteering all help to show valuable work skills that future colleges and employers want to see. Just because you haven’t had a job like the one for which you are applying or seeking college education, doesn’t mean you haven’t acquired the skills necessary to succeed.Â
GET STARTED --> One of the best ways to get started on your resume as a high school student (and to improve your writing in general) is to look at examples of student samples and read tips on what to include and how to format.Â
FOCUS HERE --> By focusing on your education, volunteer, and extracurricular experience, you can craft a strong resume that will stand out to a college and/or scholarship committee.Â
