The username should be the student's NWU email address, ending in "@nebrwesleyan.edu". (If they enter the full email address, spelling can also be an issue.) I believe you can see students' usernames on your roster in Self-Service, but it would also have been emailed to them when they set up their account.
The email address they THINK the password reset is going to isn't the one they used when registering – especially if their first NWU registration was in a previous year.
Students should check the spam folder in any email address they may have used in registration, including asking parents to check their email. (We can look this up for them as well; it just takes longer.)
Here are the instructions I typically share with students who contact me:
Please use the following instructions to reset your password:
Enter your username: NWUemail (ends in @nebrwesleyan.edu)
Click Next.
Click Forgot password?
Select Email to reset your password.
Click Send me an email.
Check your EMAIL account (including SPAM/JUNK folder) for an email from do-not-reply@nebrwesleyan.edu. Click the "Reset Password" button in the email. (This message is sent to the email address you used during registration; if you registered more than once, check all email addresses used.)
Full instructions with screenshots can be found here: Lost/Forgotten Password.
If this does not work, you will need to call CSIT (402-465-7777) to ask for a reset link to be emailed to you; the link will only be good for one hour, so make sure you have time to finish the process. They are available from 8-5 Monday-Friday.
Never Activated your account? Here's the email you will need to send:
SEND THIS EMAIL TO: ahowell@nebrwesleyan.edu
